Purse money classes:
Premier classes have a
guaranteed purse to be awarded at each round of the tour, based on the
above purse schedule. These classes are: Pro-Am Ski GP, Pro-Am Runabout
Open, Pro Freestyle.
Tour purse classes with 5 or
more competitors on the line will receive the guaranteed tour purse or
50% of the line contingency, whichever is greater. Classes with 3 or 4
riders on the line the payout is 25% of the line, the purse is awarded
to the class winner. Classes with less than 3 competitors on the line
will receive no payout. These classes are: Pro-Am Ski Stock,
Pro-Am Runabout Stock, Expert Ski Limited, Pro-Am Runabout 800 SS,
Women’s Runabout Limited.
Contingency classes: Expert and Pro-Am classes that
do not receive purse money will receive the standard 50% of the line
contingency. Those classes with 5 or more competitors will receive full
contingency. Classes with 3 or 4 riders on the line, the payout is 25%
of the line, contingency is awarded to the class winner. Classes with
less than 3 competitors on the line will receive no payout.
The decision to continue to support the
Pro-Am Runabout 800 SS was made in order to encourage these athletes to
move into the 1200cc boat classes and not alienate them from the sport.
This class carried the 3rd highest sum of entries in the runabout
division for 2010.
Expert Ski classes was one of the most
inconsistent classes for 2010, but we see this class as a stepping stone
to Pro Ski GP and will continue to support this class for 2011. The
performance of this class for the 2011 season will determine if it will
be continued to receive purse money for 2012.
Women’s Runabout Limited was elected for
prize money in order to encourage women to participate in the UWP-IJSBA
Watercross National Tour. The performance of this class for the 2011
season will determine if it will be continued to receive purse money for
2012.
The 2011 UWP-IJSBA Watercross National
Tour has risen over $126,000 dollars in prize money and with that UWP
anticipates that with the additional non purse classes, it will have
awarded over $134,000 in prize money for the 2011 race season. |
